There was a time, not so long ago, that I could walk into the shoe department of any department store or athletic shoe vendor, ask to try on a nice-looking pair of size 10.5s (US) and be on my way in a matter of a half hour. Now, three quarters of what I try on runs way big or small, or it fits right but has some weird manufacturing defect or other (and not a cosmetic one, but something like an unevenness in the insole that pokes into a weird part of your foot or something). And they'll often only have one pair in a particular size, so if you get a bad one, well, you're screwed and it was a wasted trip to the store. And I have no better luck (actually worse) with shoes bought online. Is is just that everything's gone to ever-cheaper Asian manufacturers (Chinese made stuff gets better, but then the labor gets too expensive, so they move to Malaysia)?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
